Dr. Basora was born and raised in Northern California. Dr. Basora attended California State University East Bay where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Small Business/New Ventures. He then earned his DDS degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska, graduating in 1996.
Dr. Basora had the opportunity to study abroad and observe in the dental schools at both the Kasturba School of Dentistry in Manipal, India as well as the University of Washington School of Dentistry. Both experiences solidified his desire to pursue a career as a general dentist.
Upon graduating from dental school, Dr. Basora founded the dental clinic at Eastern Plumas Health Care in Portola, California. This experience in hospital dentistry allowed Dr. Basora to provide a broad range of dental care that has proved invaluable in private practice. He updates his training periodically in many areas of modern dentistry, including cosmetics and orthodontics and is currently learning the latest treatments for sleep apnea.
Dr. Basora feels the field of dentistry is a great combination of science and art, and that suits his strengths well. He is committed to providing patients with a safe and comfortable environment which allows them to look good, feel healthy, and be confident they are making good decisions about their oral health care. Dr. Basora relishes the interactions he has with his patients and finds great joy in making connections with members of his community.
The Doctor and his wife, Emma, have two children, Ben and Lucas. They enjoy many of the outdoor activities our area has to offer from paddle boarding and bike riding at Lake Tahoe to hiking the many trails in the Lakes Basin area above Graeagle, California.
